Guidelines and philosophy for Colloquium talks in Math Dept at WVU

Preferable, the colloquia presentations should be suitable for general audience. By this we mean our graduate students and the faculty members not necessary specializing in the area of the talk.

Beside the talks given by the outside visitors, we also anticipate presentations by our own faculty members. These presentations should be aimed at providing the audience a general information on presenter's research area and, if appropriate, its relation to his/her research achievements. The goal here is to give our faculty and graduate students a better overall information on Departmental research strengths and interests. This should also help our graduate students to match their interests with potential advisors.
