Discrete Mathematics Today
Discrete Maths has developed rapidly over the past thirty
years, largely in response to the expansion of technology and the use of
computers in our everyday lives. This talk will discuss some applications
of Discrete Mathematics to the correcting of errors on compact discs, to
cryptography, and even to the scheduling of golf tournaments.
It is
guaranteed to be an elementary talk, with technical mathematical details
kept to a minimum.
