Abstract
Given an electrical network, one wishes to measure currents
in some branches
and voltage drops across other branches and to choose these branches
in such a way that as few measurements as possible are made while still being
able to use Kirchhoff's laws and Ohm's law to completely determine
the currents in and voltage drops across all network branches. Uniformly dense
networks are introduced when efforts towards this minimization are made.
We shall present some history and recent progresses
on the studies of uniformly dense networks.
