Math and Chemistry Incoming Students Placement Chart
ALEKS scores are different from exam grades. Math 126 (College Algebra) requires a minimum ALEKS score of 45. Math 122 (Quantitative Skills and Reasoning) requires a minimum ALEKS score of 30. Math 122 is a two-credit preparatory course for College Algebra (Math 126) and *does not* fulfill the WVU general education math requirement.
Note:You will not be permitted to take a math or chemistry course that is above your readiness level, even if you are only one point away. If you want to place into a higher-level course, you may use ALEKS learning modules to improve your skills and retake the assessment. You must qualify for a class before scheduling it. At the beginning of the semester, students who do not meet criteria for a class are removed from the roll.
