With support of many WVU math faculty members, Charis Tsikkou and I are organizing the Junior WVU Math Club, a series of weekly meetings for Morgantown area high-school students. The sessions are centered around a mix of olympiad problem solving and lectures on mathematical topics that complement the high-school math curriculum. We are grateful for the support of MAA, through a Dolciani Enrichment Grant.
With generous support from the WVU Math Department and the WVU Math Club, Charis Tsikkou and I are organizing the WVU Integration Bee competition, open to all WVU students.
This is an annual competition, consisting of a written qualifier and a single-elimination blackboard tournament, open to spectators.
Winner and runner-up will be awarded $100 and $50 WVU Bookstore certificates!
The fourth WVU Integration Bee will take place at 6pm on March 1 (qualifier) and March 16 (finals) in Armstrong Hall.
Congratulations to the 2016 winner Jesse Cook (Math), runner-up Ike Tan (Physics), and highest ranked high-school Sam Mathers (university High)! Here are some pictures from the event.
Congratulations to the 2015 winner Uyen Le, runner-up Ariel Sitler (both Math majors), and to best placed high school student Madison Kukura! Here are some pictures from the event.
